Creating Consistency with Healthy Habits without Motivation

When I reflect on my own life, talk with family members or friends, and chat with clients about their "healthy" intentions, a similar theme often pops up:

We're waiting for motivation to take action.

We wait to feel inspired to make a change or to have things "ready" to make move. Think about all of the new year energy that causes us to make New Year's Resolutions. How many of us, though, attempt to start something new in January, but fizzle out by March (if we last that long)? Our new year emotions and motivation drive change, but what about when that motivation is no longer there? How do we follow through?


A lot of people will say things like,

It's not motivation, it's dedication.

or...

Consistency is key.

While this advice might be mostly true, I don't exactly find it helpful, because it doesn't answer the question, "How do we get consistent to begin with?"

3. finding YOUR entry point, the small change that is going to start changing your routines, allowing you to feel success and joy in creating a healthier lifestyle!
